Precision Grinder/Machinist

Location: South Plainfield, New Jersey Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: $25 - $30 hourly Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: Monday through Friday (7am-3:30pm), most Saturdays (7am-12p) PRECISION GRINDER/MACHINIST Position Overview We are seeking a Precision Grinder/Machinist to join our manufacturing team.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in machining and grinding who thrives in a production environment and values precision, quality, and hard work.

Responsibilities Setup and operation of machining lathes Operation of cylindrical and surface grinders Operation of polishing and honing machines Performing basic setups including cutting tools and grinding wheels Use of overhead hoists for material handling Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings Maintaining high standards of precision and safety throughout all operations Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment Hands-on experience with lathes and grinders Familiarity with machining setups Proficiency with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators Strong mechanical and technical aptitude Solid mathematical skills and high attention to detail Ability to read and speak English Must be a U.S.
