The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Chief of Hospital & Forensic Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for the state’s Regional Psychiatric Hospitals (RPHs).

This critical leadership role is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of Hospital Services (HS) goals, policies, procedures, and operations, as well as oversight of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and budgetary management.

Additional duties:

Develop, implement, and evaluate goals, objectives, policies, and operational procedures for HS.

Provide direct oversight and support to CEOs of Regional Psychiatric Hospitals (RPHs).

Manage and monitor Hospital Services and RPH budgets.

Support negotiation and compliance of Community Support Network (CSN) service contracts and outcomes.

Serve as an integral member of the OhioMHAS Executive Team, contributing to strategic planning, policy development, budgeting, and resource utilization.

Represent OhioMHAS to internal and external stakeholders, including governmental entities, providers, and community partners.

Collaborate with other departments and divisions to resolve operational challenges and support cross-agency initiatives.

Develop and monitor performance indicators for health information management in RPHs.

Lead and implement strategic health information initiatives aligned with Hospital Services goals.

Evaluate health information management projects, including budgeting, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.

Supervise the Director of Forensic Services, Deputy Director of Regional Psychiatric Hospitals, and the Director of Performance Improvement, as well as each Chief Executive Officer at each of the regional psychiatric hospitals.
