JOB TITLE: DB2 DBA JOB LOCATION: Remote (Eastern Time Zone Work Schedule) DURATION: Initial 1-Year Contract, Possible Temp to Perm WAGE RANGE*: $60-65/hr (W2 Only) JOB NUMBER: NGGJP00016118 Mandatory Qualifications Proven work experience as a DB2 Database Administrator Firm grasp on DB2 database management and deployment Experience with DB2 diagnostic tools Strong command over SQL and DB2 related scripting Excellent understanding of data administration and management function (collection, analysis, distribution, etc.) Proficient in database security administration 5+ years of experience in being a DB2 database administrator Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g.

Computer Science, Information Technology or similar) Experience of working in a multi-vendor outsourced environment and with remote offshore teams Exposure and knowledge of compliance and controls frameworks like SOX, NACHA, PCI and others.

Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions Excellent communication skills to work within a multi supplier environment Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning to optimize database performance and ensure efficient resource usage Excellent problem-solving skills Knowledge of DB2 Replication Job Purpose Responsible for the performance, integrity and the security of our clients Production and Test Logical DB2 environment for our critical Customer Service System (CSS) that consists of 638 Production DB2 tables and support of 16 test environments.

Our DB2 environment is split between logical and physical support.

For this position will be to manage the DB2 logical environment and support the physical DB2 DBA within our supplier group.

Our department is a fast-paced critical environment that requires strong analytical skills once an issue occurs to analyze the issue quickly and help provide a resolve and work within a multi-supplier environment for full resolution.

Key Accountabilities for Logical Database Activities Create/Update application DB objects (tables, function, index, procedures, etc.) Application specific SQL tuning, diagnostics, recommended changes Data repairs SQL verification SQL code implementation for Production and test environments Health checks Manage/monitors database events (batch jobs) Database growth tracking Batch execution support (Production and test environments) Support of Customer Service System (CSS) production push support Database backups and restores (Production and test environments) Index, partition recommendations and implementation Archival Strategy recommendations and implementation Manage database event monitors Application Database growth tracking and management Data provisioning and management of SOX controls Manage application data auditing Manage application database links Support System Administrator Physical DBA Support installation, upgrade and patching of DB2 database environment Maintain DB2 database environments, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity Work with Physical DB2 DBA on capacity planning and management Respond to requests and incidents related to the logical environment quickly and efficiently Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary Testing and modifying databases to ensure they operate reliably Manage database access accurately and within SOX regulations Ability to analyze and solve complex database issues using exceptional problem-solving skill quickly and efficiently Recovery and restoration in case of any data loss Preferred Qualifications Professional Certification for DB2 Database Administration Equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities * While an hourly range is posted for this position, an eventual hourly rate is determined by a comprehensive salary analysis which considers multiple factors including but not limited to: job-related knowledge, skills and qualifications, education and experience as compared to others in the organization doing substantially similar work, if applicable, and market and business considerations.
