The Assistant Facility Security Officer will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of a cleared facility for unclassified and classified government contracts.
Essential Duties:
Assists FSO in administering all industrial security program functions, including physical and personnel security, investigations, education, operations security (OPSEC) and communications security (COMSEC) operations.
Serve as the Alternate COMSEC Manager
Develops, implements and interprets policies and practices of the program including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new contracts
Resolves security issues, identify changes to government policy and update company security program based on government policy changes.
Assists in conducting self-inspections for all classified programs to report results to senior leadership.
Works with Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) directives
Serve as the primary contact for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency's Security Vulnerability Assessments (DCSA SVAs) and inspections from other government agencies. Collaborate with other members of the security staff and senior leadership to facilitate SVAs and inspections
Investigate security incidents and violations relating to classified programs and establishes the basis for possible disciplinary action
Helps ensure compliance with applicable security directives.
Assists with maintaining the OU Insider Threat Program
Updates company security policies and procedures as required.
Provide security input and draft security responses for proposals.
Develops an overarching vision and strategy for programs
Establishes operational and strategic unit goals
Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Provide security, educational training, and awareness
Required Education and Experience\: Master's degree, AND:
24 months related experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 72 months experience in lieu of the Master's degree for a total of 96 months related experience.

Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written.
Must be organized, efficient, and able to work without direct supervision.
Demonstrated strong judgment, discretion, accountability, and initiative.
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to build rapport with students, faculty and staff
Ability to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
Ability to produce reports and complete work within deadlines
Strong initiative to solve problems in a timely manner
Certifications\:
Obtain FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities obtained within three (3) months from employment.
Active security clearance or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
Department Preferences:
Prior experience in a defense contracting or government security role is highly desirable.
3 or more years of classified security experience in industry or government environment.
OR
2 years of experience with US Government programs:
Defense Information System for Security (DISS), Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP), National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) eApp, National Industrial Security System (NISS), and Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT)
Working Conditions\:
Work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer and/or the ability to travel by air and ground.
Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or mobile device.
Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and squatting.
May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs.
