The Air Quality Environmental Scientist performs scientific and technical analyses, calculations, assessments and determinations essential to the implementation of the air quality program in the State of Montana. Responsibilities include\: Reviewing specifications and processes at existing and proposed industrial facilities; Assessing and responding to permit applications and registration materials; Determining whether facilities are constructed and operated in compliance with air quality rules and permit requirements; Conducting field inspections; Reviewing and implementing state and federal statutes, rules, and policies; and Acting as a liaison for the Department to the public and industry on air quality matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science-based discipline, including those associated with resource protection or management, human health protection, or community planning.

• Two years of job-related experience in environmental resource protection and regulation, or in a related scientific profession.

• Current valid Driver's License and clean driving record in accordance with State of Montana Vehicle Use Policy
