Hometown Health Center (HHC) is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our family medicine team in Newport and/or Dexter, Maine. This full-time, or part-time, opportunity is ideal for an experienced provider who values community-based care, collaboration and making a meaningful difference across generations, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Our sites offer the opportunity to practice comprehensive primary care in a mission-driven environment that respects your autonomy and supports your success. As part of our commitment to improving provider well-being, we also offer Scribe-X, a live scribe service to reduce administrative burden and enhance work-life balance. And starting December 2025, our new Palmyra facility will include both an onsite daycare and a wellness center with a gym, walking track and basketball/pickleball court.

About the Opportunity
As a Nurse Practitioner at HHC, you will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages. You’ll work as part of a collaborative care team alongside physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers and care coordinators to promote whole-person health. You’ll manage both acute and chronic conditions, with an emphasis on family medicine, geriatrics, pain management and prevention. What You’ll Do
Perform physical exams and obtain patient medical histories
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses across the lifespan
Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations
Order and interpret diagnostic tests to support treatment plans
Educate patients and families on preventive care and health promotion
Collaborate closely with the care team to ensure continuity and quality of care
Document all clinical encounters in a timely, accurate manner using EHR systems
What You’ll Need
Required:
Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Maine
Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Strong clinical skills in family medicine, geriatrics and pain management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
DEA registration
BLS and ACLS certification (PALS required by department/facility)
Preferred:
Experience in pediatric care
APRN licensure and NP certification in a specialty area
Background in a hospital or clinical setting
