Job Description

Chaparral is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator, responsible for preparing cost estimates for large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will utilize specialized estimation software to analyze plan documents and other relevant data to develop accurate time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. This role is critical in supporting management’s planning, organizing, and scheduling efforts. This is an on-site position.

Position Description:

Prepare cost estimates for small- and large-scale jobs.

Complete job estimates by using specialized estimation software

Analyze plan documents and other data to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates

Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work

Calculating a final figure for the estimated cost, supplemented by adjustments for overhead and profit, and presenting a final price

Assist with bid closeout and final proposal preparations

Assist with writing technical proposals

Requirements:

Proficiency in computer-based estimating systems, including On-Screen Takeoff and similar platforms.

Strong knowledge of HVAC and Plumbing systems; experience in mechanical insulation is a plus.

Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills with minimal supervision.

Excellent communication and listening skills to understand client and project requirements.
