Intro:

Job Title: Field Safety Technician

Location: Farnham, VA

Duration: 3 - 6 months

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate: $45 - $50/hr

• Per Diem: $2,500/month

• Pay: Weekly

Schedule:

Hours: 50 - 60 hours/week Shift: 0700 - 1700 Monday - Friday (Some Saturdays required)

Project Scope:

• Solar installation project

• Safety oversight for trenching, underground utilities, electrical systems, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of field safety experience in construction or utilities

• Certifications: OSHA 500 required

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory and client safety standards

• Provide new hire orientations and ongoing site-specific safety training

• Monitor trenching, electrical, and LOTO operations to ensure safe execution

• Review and manage daily safety documentation, permits, and toolbox talks

• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions

• Enforce safety practices across all trades and contractors on-site

• Serve as a liaison between field teams and project management for all safety-related concerns

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and industry best practices

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Capable of working independently in a fast-paced field environment

Knowledge:

• In-depth understanding of solar construction, trench safety, electrical hazards, and Lockout/Tagout procedures
