WRIC in Richmond, Virginia is expanding our lifestyle program ‘Showcase’ and we’re looking for the right experienced Producer/Host to lead this exciting initiative. Bring your creative vision and help us grow this signature brand. Your primary role will be to coordinate guests and produce the daily 1-hour show. Your secondary role will be hosting segments and/or co-hosting for the daily broadcast.

Primary Job Description
Produce weekday 1 hour as-live lifestyle show along with additional shows and/or segments that may air outside the program’s regular weekday schedule
Create show rundowns in ENPS and share them with the team
Booth and time the as-live segments via ENPS
Post segments/stories on lifestyle show social media and web page
Collaborate with Sales Department Clients, the Production Manager, lifestyle show host(s), and videographer/editor to write and approve scripts
Researching show topics and developing questions for guests
Attending daily show meeting
Maintaining a show social media account and assist with all online content
Other duties as assigned by management
Additional Job Description
Fill in as host and/or co-host for 1-hour live show
Interviewing show guests/clients both in studio and on location
Produce daily segments and packages for weekday show
Organize show content in a cohesive sequence to engage and grow the audience
Ensure daily production is highly produced, teases are strong, and content adheres to priorities
Book and schedule as-live and pre-taped in-studio interviews and on-location segments
Evaluate entertainment and cultural value of stories for broadcast and website
Work closely with Sales to integrate & schedule sponsored client segments
Work with production team on recording schedules and show management
Attend daily content meetings, provide timely feedback, and make solid decisions
Hands-on oversight of an hourlong show Monday – Friday
Build relationships with guests, clients, community members, and show contributors
Greeting and assisting guests during show preparations
Participating in events –either station-sponsored or others – to promote the show
Requirements & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related professional experience preferred
Experience as a host or on-air personality preferred
Must have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize to meet tight deadlines
Ability to pre-produce stories on time and on brand
Must be energetic, positive and great in a team environment
Must be a highly motivated self-starter, able to work well alone and as part of a team
Experience with ENPS, Ross XPression and Streamline, and Adobe Premiere Pro a plus
Excellent communication and organizational skills
