Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Engineer – Equipment Life Cycle at our Carlin operation. The successful candidate will work with larger engineering team to develop and improve equipment maintenance strategies based on asset criticality.

Responsibilities:
Identify and execute projects aimed at increasing asset availability and reducing risk.
Work with larger engineering team to develop and improve equipment maintenance strategies based on asset criticality.
Promote understanding and compliance to the Barrick ELM framework and principles.
Leadership and mentoring of Junior Engineers in Engineering technical disciplines and Reliability practices.
Ensure accuracy and quality of loss tracking data within Rtduet system.
Own the Defect Elimination process and develop Top Loss Drivers list.
Lead projects to identify signification production loss, equipment failure or performance issues through defect elimination process.
Perform data analysis on critical equipment to evaluate performance and develop predictive triggers for condition based maintenance.
Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, supervisors, planners, maintenance teams and operations personnel.
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance.
Together with engineering team, develop robust maintenance strategies for critical assets.
Lead formal process of change management for any issues relating to the physical plant and engineering design data.
Perform Asset Criticality exercises on new and existing assets.
Provide input to departmental budget for ELM and Predictive Maintenance teams.
Provide input to operational and capital budgets to addresses key business risks identified through Defect Elimination and Predictive Maintenance processes.
Promote adherence to plant engineering standards throughout maintenance and operations teams.
Identify all equipment requiring inspections based on legislative requirements. Develop and deploy maintenance strategies to meet the requirements of critical tasks.
Manage critical condition-based strategies such as Grinding Mill liner wear based on 3D scan analysis. Work with planning teams to schedule relines based on wear forecasting.
Perform equipment maintenance strategy reviews and failure analysis to ensure that all task lists and work instructions remain accurate and relevant.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical - preferred
Other equivalent experience or related engineering or technical certifications may be considered - preferred
5 plus years in maintenance, engineering, reliability or equivalent experience managing fixed assets within mining industry - required
Experience in Pressure Oxidization Operations is considered an asset - required
Mechanical and electrical engineering design standards - required
Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point) - required
Working knowledge of PowerBI - required
Reliability Concepts and Tools such as RCM, FMECA, RCA - required
CMMS Competency (SAP preferred) required
Experience with Pi or Pi Vision - required
Excellent written and oral communication skills - required
Project management including planning, scheduling, cost controlling - required
Cost analysis and business justification - required
Facilitation of meetings - required
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documents - required
Working knowledge of mechanical equipment such as pumps, conveyors, piping, valves etc. - required
