Job Summary:
The Logistics Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient transportation, handling, and installation of wind turbine components. This role ensures compliance with industry safety regulations, develops risk mitigation strategies, and coordinates logistics operations to support wind energy projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, construction safety, and wind energy operations.Key Responsibilities:Logistics Coordination:
Plan, organize, and oversee the transportation of wind turbine components, including blades, nacelles, and towers.
Coordinate with transportation providers, crane operators, and site managers to ensure timely and safe deliveries.
Monitor shipment schedules and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.Safety & Compliance:
Implement and enforce safety protocols for transporting and installing wind turbine components.
Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, DOT, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
Maintain accurate safety records, permits, and incident reports.Training & Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and deliver safety training sessions for logistics and construction teams.
Establish emergency response plans for incidents such as transportation accidents, equipment failures, and weather-related disruptions.
Conduct safety drills and ensure teams are trained in hazard recognition and emergency response.Collaboration & Communication:
Act as the point of contact between logistics providers, site managers, engineers, and project stakeholders.
Provide safety briefings and updates to teams working on wind energy projects.
Work closely with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and obtain necessary permits.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in wind energy logistics, construction safety, or heavy equipment transportation.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, ANSI, and other safety regulations.
Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in logistics software and safety management systems.
Certifications such as OSHA 30, GWO (Global Wind Organization) Safety Training, or CPR/First Aid are a plus.
