BASIC FUNCTION

Employees in this position are responsible for the safe control of traffic through our work zones.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Valid drivers license. Note: Driving record must be satisfactory to insurance company prior to being permitted to operate a company vehicle.

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and willingness to submit to random drug & alcohol testing.

Ability to stand for long periods of time, occasionally longer than 10 hours.

Physical ability to lift 30 pounds.

Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Ability to remain alert to hazards and react appropriately if needed.

Ability to be prompt and dependable.

SKILLS AND TRAINING REQUIRED

Successful completion of basic safety and flagger training. (PennDOT training provided by Allegheny Contracting certified safety manager)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists with setting up and tearing down highway work zones and controlling traffic during the course of the day.

Responsible to maintain a safe work zone and to represent the company in a professional and courteous manner to the general public and our customers.

Responsible to assist emergency vehicles through the work zone as needed.

Responsible to properly care for the equipment assigned to them.

Responsible to properly perform any other tasks that may be required.
