Job Description
The Sanitation Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in facilities such as warehouses, production plants, offices, or public buildings. This position involves performing regular cleaning, sanitation, and waste disposal duties to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize floors, walls, restrooms, breakrooms, and other designated areas.
Collect and properly dispose of trash, recycling, and hazardous waste materials.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and operate floor-cleaning equipment (e.g., scrubbers, buffers).
Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Clean and disinfect high-touch areas regularly (e.g., door handles, light switches).
Follow proper sanitation procedures in food-handling or sensitive environments.
Maintain accurate cleaning logs and report maintenance issues or safety hazards.
Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
Perform deep cleaning during shutdowns or scheduled maintenance periods.
Support emergency clean-ups as needed.
