Position Summary:
The Director of Finance will steward FBA’s resources, providing oversight in budgeting, reporting, compliance, and long-term planning. This role approaches all financial work as ministry, equipping the body of Christ to serve more effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee financial reporting, operations, budgeting, and forecasting.
Supervise a team of four direct reports (Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, Supervisor of Cash Receipts, Payroll Specialist).
Provide financial analysis and strategic advice to senior leadership.
Manage the annual budgeting process and ensure regulatory compliance.
Coordinate and manage external audit processes.
Translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial leaders.
Ensure compliance with privacy and data protection regulations.
Model biblical stewardship through personal tithing and active participation in the church’s spiritual life.
Required Candidate Qualifications:
Growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Alignment with FBA’s beliefs, values, and mission.
Active membership at FBA or willingness to become a member within three months.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA strongly preferred).
7+ years of progressive financial management experience, with some of those years preferably in nonprofit/ministry.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial practices.
Proficiency in financial systems, budgeting, donor management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Additional Details:
100% on-site position, four days a week, M-TH 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary of $115,000 - $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
