Responsibility for managing and overseeing all aspects of importing tiles, flooring and related goods while ensuring compliance with international trade law and coordinating all aspects of logistics.
Specific duties include: - Planning and coordinating the international shipment of goods - Negotiate with shipping companies and freight forwarders to get best rates and ensure timely delivery.
- Track shipments and update internal teams and customers on the status.
- Ensure customs compliance to ensure adherence to international customs regulations and trade laws.
- Prepare, organize, and submit all required customs documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and other necessary paperwork.
- Stay updated with changes in regulations and advise the company on compliance changes that will impact business practices.
- Work with customer brokers to clear goods through customs.
- Work with customs brokers and company management to resolve any issues related to customs clearance, duties, and taxes.
- Work closely with company to facilitate the import/export process.
- Maintain documentation and records of all import/export transactions for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Maintain records of all transaction details for reporting purposes to management.
- Keep records and monitor costs of import including freight, storage, customs fees.
- Research shipping lines and logistics providers to negotiate contracts and rates to ensure cost savings while maintaining service quality.
- Conduct Risk Assessment to identify potential risks in the shipping process and develop alternative strategies to minimize impact.
- Monitor shipments to provide updated information to customers regarding shipping schedules, delivery time estimates, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associate's Degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management or closely related.
