Position Summary

Elevate your teaching practice as part of Professional Corps and help your students achieve incredible growth!

Join Professional Corps as a Preschool Tutor and you'll take what you already do in the classroom as a teacher, para, or aide and combine it with the data and strategies of Early Learning Corps. We'll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!

How does it work? Using research-based activities and assessments, you'll enhance daily learning for your students. With the targeted support and collaboration, you'll make an incredible impact and help ignite a love of learning!

Core Responsibilities:

Support preschoolers with learning activities throughout the day

Provide additional one-on-one and small group support using scripted early literacy and math strategies

Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach

Conducts skill assessments and enter student scores into tracking software

Commit to your own growth through coaching and training

Share your experience with the community Essential Qualifications

To participate in professional Corps, you need to be a classroom teacher, paraprofesssional or aide working with students ages 3-5. Additionally, by the time you begin your service you should be:

Recommended by the school principal, school administrator, or supervisor

Dependable and have a history of good attendance

Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback

Proficien in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)

Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing

18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent

A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States

Able to successfully complete a background check Schedule

We are currently hiring for the 2025-26 school year. Positions run August 2025-June 2026

35 hours per week (less in weeks with holidays or school release days)

Daytime hours (correspond with school start and end times)

Monday - Friday (no weekends)

Time off on holidays and school release days Part-time positions are also available at 25 hours per week

Full-time AmeriCorps members receive:

Up to $5176.50 for college tuition or student loans (members 55+ can transfer this award to a qualified family member)

Federal student loan forbearance (payment puase) and interest repayment

Time accrual toward the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
