Overview of Job Function:
Verint’s Sr. Cloud Automation Engineer designs, develops and implements automated solutions for cloud deployment, scaling, and management in cloud environments. Their focus is on enhancing the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of Verint’s software systems by leveraging cloud technologies and automation techniques. This role requires considerable experience hosting large-scale platform services as well as a strong belief that automation is the only way to deliver and support platform services in a reliable and scalable way. The Sr. Cloud Automation Engineer works with Cloud Engineering leadership and Verint’s application teams to develop creative solutions satisfying technical and business requirements.
Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
Build, deploy, debug and support VMware image in large scale
Customize VMware workstation or similar virtualization software
Deploy and support CI/CD pipeline, image scanning, and handle encryption requirement
Develop orchestration with core Java to pull image remotely in cloud/on prem hybrid environment
Build images, deploy images for supporting application teams
Recommend processes, technologies and other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency and/or quality of Verint’s solutions
Develop automation for cloud managed services (AWS Services like EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM etc.) through python, terraform, GitOps for automated deployments in development and production environments
Research new technologies to improve Verint’s cloud/on prem hybrid platform
Work on complex projects with minimal supervision
Write high-quality, standardized scripts, configurations, and tests to increase platform reliability through automation
Create and maintain advanced observability solutions for platform systems
Quickly create Proof-of-Concept systems to validate ideas and test new technologies
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
5 years' experience in operating globally distributed infrastructure in a 24/7, five 9 environments
Ability to manage multiple priorities and parallel projects with strong organizational, and time management skills
Experience working in a remote team environment
Experience with Git version control
3+ years' experience with VMware, Containerization
5+ years' experience with basic scripting in Bash, Python, etc.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
Experience with Cloud hosting services: AWS, Azure, GCP
Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, Harness, GitLab CI/CD, etc.
Ability to take ownership of assignments and drive to resolution
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations.
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in Linux service development, system configuration, shell scripting
Proficiency of containerized technologies (Docker etc.)
Experience with observability systems such as Datadog
Experience in Core Java development is a plus
Knowledge of MS SQL Server, SQL and ETL is a plus
Knowledge of data-lake technology like databricks is a plus
