We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud architecture design, provisioning, and managing cloud infrastructure using AWS services. This role requires a critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills, a passion for continuous improvement, and a solid understanding of data management, security best practices, container orchestration, and monitoring. This position will be hybrid based in our offices in Charlotte, North Carolina.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Infrastructure Design: Design and architect cloud solutions leveraging AWS tools and best practices to meet business and technical requirements.
Resource Provisioning: Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS Management Console.
Automation: Write and update automation scripts and pipelines for cloud deployment and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance and availability of cloud resources and applications.
Security: Implement and maintain security controls and best practices to protect cloud infrastructure and data.
Cost Management: Manage and optimize cloud costs, including budgeting and cost allocation.
Monitoring: Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure the stability and reliability of cloud environments using tools such as AWS CloudWatch and ELK stack.
Data Management: Design and implement data storage, processing, and analysis solutions using AWS services such as S3, RDS, Redshift, and Glue.
Event-Driven Serverless Architecture: Design and implement event-driven serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and EventBridge.
Container Orchestration: Deploy and manage containerized applications using AWS ECS and EKS.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest AWS services, features, and best practices to continuously improve cloud solutions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree required.
Five (5) years of combined experience in cloud engineering and architecture is required.
Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
Proven experience with AWS services, such as EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, VPC, among others.
Skilled in scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation & monitoring and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch and ELK stack.
Strong understanding of cloud security best practices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of scalable data architecture to ensure efficient and scalable data processing and storage solutions.
