Job Summary:
A Quality Auditor in a plant that manufactures global automotive parts plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements before they are shipped to customers. This role is responsible for maintaining product quality, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and enhancing customer satisfaction. Their efforts contribute to the reputation of the company and its ability to deliver high-quality automotive parts to customers worldwide.

Quality Inspections: Conducting thorough inspections of automotive parts throughout the manufacturing process to identify defects, non-conformities, or deviations from quality standards. This includes inspecting raw materials, components, work-in-progress, and finished products.
Quality Control Procedures: Implementing and enforcing quality control procedures and protocols to maintain consistency and adherence to quality standards. This may involve developing inspection checklists, sampling plans, and quality control documentation.
Documentation and Reporting: Documenting inspection results, non-conformities, and corrective actions taken. They may prepare detailed inspection reports and quality metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigating the root causes of quality issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions to address them. This may involve collaborating with production teams, engineers, and suppliers to identify and resolve quality-related problems.
Job Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is usually the minimum requirement for this position. Preference for candidates with post-secondary education, in quality assurance, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related discipline.
Work experience: relevant work experience in quality assurance for automotive production. Prior experience in a quality control or inspection role within the automotive industry is highly advantageous. Experience with quality management systems such as ISO/TS 16949 or IATF 16949 is also valuable.
Attention to detail: Ability to meticulously inspect automotive parts for defects or non-conformities.
Analytical skills: Capacity to analyze data, identify trends, and interpret quality metrics to make informed decisions.
Problem-solving abilities: Proficiency in identifying root causes of quality issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Technical proficiency: Familiarity with measurement tools and equipment used for quality inspections, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
Knowledge of quality standards: Understanding of industry-specific quality standards, regulations, and best practices relevant to automotive manufacturing, such as PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), and FMEA.
