Responsibilities and Duties
Assist the Service Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the heavy equipment service department.
Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair activities.
Supervise and support service technicians in their tasks.
Ensure all equipment and machinery are maintained, repaired, and serviced according to industry standards and guidelines.
Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
Inspect equipment to identify malfunctions or damage.
Help develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all heavy equipment.
Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and dealers to order necessary parts and supplies.
Provide technical advice and support to the service team.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Maintain detailed records of serviced machinery.
Assist in managing the budget and ensuring cost-effective operations within the service department.
Train and mentor junior service technicians.
Communicate with management the tasks to complete to gain the necessary feedback.
Must be able to think ahead and keep close contact with managers to communicate information promptly.
Works safely always. Adheres to all applicable safety policies. Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience with repairing or managing Aggregate/Forestry equipment.
Proven experience in a heavy equipment service role.
Strong understanding of heavy equipment operations and maintenance.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with CEC and Material Processing product lines.
Organized and disciplined work habits demonstrate a commitment to standard work and dedication to CEC and customer success.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between branches and to customer locations. Occasional overnight travel.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to adhere to prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must speak, write English, and listen to communicate.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to use hands to operate office equipment.
