Provide advanced expertise and support to resolve broad to abstract technical issues with division and/or site-wide implications.

• Direct, plan, develop, implement, and administer technical operations-related programs.

• Ensure technical aspects of operations or maintenance programs comply with governing directives.

• Direct and manage technical functions to support pre-conceptual design, construction, and startup of process and testing facilities.

• Interface and negotiate with vendors to resolve equipment, services, staffing, and technical issues.

• Evaluate, test, and procure new equipment and instruments to upgrade operations programs and support assigned operations.

• Develop operating procedures and training programs for less qualified technicians on various types of equipment and instruments.

• Serve on committees regarding standardization of equipment, instrumentation, processes, and training, and direct daily activities of less qualified technicians.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field

• Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

Discipline Description

Engineering specialists support engineers in the design, modification, improvement, and maintenance of products, processes, and systems in support of nuclear facility operations and missions. Activities include identifying and recommending improvements/preventive actions, inspecting, testing, maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment and systems. They may develop/configure software and/or applications. They monitor processes, estimate costs, make, or verify calculations, and analyze and interpret data. They test new and modified products, processes, and/or systems.
