RiverWoods is currently seeking a Assistant Director of Nursing to join our dynamic Healthcare Team at the Exeter Campus. The ideal candidate will provide quality customer service with a positive attitude and commitment to teamwork while meeting the needs of residents, staff, and visitors. The Assistant Director provides daily supervision and guidance to the nursing staff, to assure positive clinical outcomes and to assume the leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Health Services.

Education assistance Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Director of Health Services, with established company and departmental policies and procedures, some key functions include but are not limited to:
Supports nursing staff in the day-to-day operations of The Lodge by making daily rounds.
Monitor care planning, documentation and the care provided to ensure that the standard care rendered to all Lodge residents is of the highest quality and the staffs’ performance is in accordance with the established Standard of Clinical Practice and Performance.
Organizes and leads clinical outcome committees as assigned by the Director of Health Services.
As part of the nursing management team, shares responsibility of being on call for in-house staff. This may mean assuming coverage as a staff nurse on the nursing units in the event of inadequate numbers of staff to care for residents.
Assumes leadership of nursing department in the absence of a Director of Health Services.
Provides in-service education and attendance logs
Responsible for orienting new employees as directed by a Director of Health Services.
Participates in the review, development and update of the Nursing Service Policy and Procedures Manual and nursing objectives and philosophies.
May participate in the hiring, evaluating, and disciplining process for employees.
Maintains the confidentiality of all resident care information. Qualifications:
Education: Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree or Diploma from an accredited college, university or nursing school. BSN preferred.
Experience: Minimum of (3) year’s equivalent in nursing within a long term care facility. Specialized knowledge of nursing care of the elderly and rehabilitative nursing is preferred. Experience in teaching adults, infection control and quality assurance preferred.
Certification: Must hold a registered nursing (RN) license valid within the State of New Hampshire. Must be CPR certified. Must be certified and proficient in intravenous administration or eligible.
Work Schedule: The standard schedule will be daytime, Monday through Friday, however the schedule may be flexible to include evening hours. On call as part of Administrative coverage on some weekends and holidays as well.
