Job Description

The Junior Systems Administrator supports in the ongoing commitment to providing highly available, appropriately secure, easy-to-use solutions along with high quality customer service. This role is expected to be a hands-on contributor, with a focus on ensuring operational consistency, secure configuration, and building automations that improve internal processes.

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of M365 and Azure (Entra, Intune, Exchange, Office, SharePoint, Teams, PowerApps, etc) configuration and security management

Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and applications

General knowledge of networks, systems, and hardware

Supports the Systems Administrator and the Cybersecurity team to enhance IT infrastructure operations and security

Collaborate with IT Service Desk team members to resolve issues as necessary. This includes taking over escalated support tickets and interacting with users as necessary.

Collaborate with Cybersecurity team members to resolve issues as necessary. This includes investigating alerts, aiding in determining root cause, exploring configuration changes to tools, and contributing to event/incident reports as necessary.

Proactively identifies opportunities to leverage technology to improve corporate efficiency and security

Manage competing priorities while ensuring that security, availability, ease of use, and customer service objectives are met

Self-motivated, willing to learn, and ability to work independently and/or as part of the team to complete tasks in a timely manner

Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

Strong focus on cybersecurity in all actions

Assists in creating automations and configuration improvements to strengthen the organizations' security posture.

Participate in and lead security and system audits and remediations

Supports the various compliance requirements broadly throughout the organization (i.e., ISO, CMMC, CMMI, etc.) and within the IT organization

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in IT or Cybersecurity-related field or at least 5 years of relevant experience working in IT operations, systems administration, or cybersecurity

2 years of experience in Microsoft eco

system (M365 Exchange, Sharepoint, Teams, PowerApps, etc) with some exposure to Azure AD, and to cloud workload management

2 years of experience with computer systems, security, integrations, systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and systems

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years of experience in Microsoft ecosystem (M365 Exchange, Sharepoint, Teams, PowerApps, etc) and Azure (Azure AD, exposure to cloud workload management),

Relevant experience supporting Information Security systems and contributing to investigations, root cause analysis, and report authoring

Strong experience or knowledge in cybersecurity is looked upon favorably

Knowledge and experience in many of the following: M365, Azure Active Directory, Azure workloads, Windows Server, VMWare, Dell Isilon, MDR solutions, EDR solution administration, MS SQL, Networking, Fortinet, Windows 10/11, MS Office, Apple products

Possess strong ethics and the ability to maintain confidential information

Proactive and keen attention to detail

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management skills

Ability to build and maintain partnerships at various staff and management levels and across various functions

Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening
