A full-service restaurant located within a boutique hotel in Wading River is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Sous Chef to join its culinary leadership team. This is a hands-on role for a chef who thrives in a creative kitchen environment and enjoys contributing to seasonal menus, wine dinners, themed events, and weekly specials.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and food preparation
Assist in menu development and execution of weekly and specialty events (e.g., wine dinners, holiday menus)
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
Supervise and mentor line cooks and kitchen staff
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a high-volume or upscale kitchen environment
Culinary training or equivalent hands-on experience
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work evenings and weekends
Creative approach to menu planning and plating
Ability to commute or relocate to Wading River, NY prior to starting
