Construction Superintendent

Job Description

MDI Inc. General Contractors are seeking experienced commercial construction Superintendent(s) capable of managing for all types of commercial construction projects from ground-up, to interior finish-out. Experience with K-12, grocery stores and renovations of occupied spaces are a plus.

Responsibilities will include:

Study and interpret plans and specifications including verifying building lines, grades, dimensions and field measurements.

Manage the day-to-day activities of the construction operation.

Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and MDI employees on the job site in the way of safety, methods of construction, workforce, material quantities, equipment, work schedules, inspections, etc.

Work with Owner’s representatives, architects, engineers and project managers to ensure work complies with plans, specifications and schedule.

Interact positively with Owner and Architects and Subcontractors to build a positive working relationship

Follow and enforce the construction schedule and implement recovery when needed.

Continual Quality Control to strive for a zero punch list.

Thorough understanding of OSHA safety requirements.

Coordinate with Project Manager.

Provide input to cost and schedule forecasts; verify work progress.

Participate in the negotiation of claims and changes.

Work with owner’s representatives, architects, engineers, and Project Managers to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.

Investigate and follow up accidents and incidents.

Train job personnel.

Create better methods to accomplish tasks.

Perform project close-out and ensures punch list is completed in a timely manner.

Complete timesheets and logs daily.

Must be able to pass drug and criminal background screening
