Low Voltage Technician

Job Description

Asheville AV is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team for the position of Level 1 Installer . This position involves installing, connecting, and maintaining audio/video, network, infrastructure wiring, surveillance and control systems in both residential and commercial projects The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, the ability to handle the physical demands of running cable and carrying heavy equipment, and a passion for technology.

Responsibilities:

Running infrastructure, speaker, and surveillance wiring, Installing speakers, terminating cables and installing wall plates, and staging electronics. .

Assisting in the installation of equipment racks and electronics including amplifiers, receivers, TV's, projectors, and control equipment

Assisting in the installation of automated window treatments and lighting control systems

Work closely with the project manager to ensure successful project completions

Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Keep up-to-date on the latest AV technologies and trends.

Follow safety procedures and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Eagerness to learn and grow in the low voltage field.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 75 lbs).

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in residential or commercial low voltage installation

Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.

A basic familiarity with home automation systems (e.g., Control4, Lutron).

Experience with professional audio and video equipment.

Certifications in relevant AV technologies (e.g., CEDIA CIT, NC SP-FA/LV ). (NOTE: We will pay for and support your efforts in getting certifications.)

Benefits:

Pay range $19-$25 based on experience

4 day work weeks (10 hrs/day with overtime opportunities)
