Job Description

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

The primary objective is to drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing, standardizing, and enhancing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce variability, and shorten cycle times. The engineer will lead process improvement projects, implement Lean methodologies, and design technical solutions using CAD tools like SolidWorks.

Capable of organizing and leading cross-functional teams (manufacturing, engineering, supervisors) not directly reporting to them to execute improvement strategies effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

Responsibility:

- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

- Lead Kaizen events and apply Lean methodologies (5S, SMED, VSM, Kanban).

- Use SolidWorks for designing jigs, fixtures, workstation layouts, and process improvements.

- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (Fishbone, 5 Whys) to resolve operational issues.

- Monitor and reduce process variability using SPC and cycle time analysis.

- Design ergonomic and efficient workstations to improve operator performance.

- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Logistics to improve material flow.

Authority:

- Propose and implement process improvements.

- Approve standardized procedures and workstation changes.

- Execute Lean tools and continuous improvement strategies.

- Approve technical designs related to process efficiency.

- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.

- Establish control plans and statistical methods for quality assurance.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

- Strong knowledge in process engineering, continuous improvement, and Lean manufacturing.

- Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD tools.

- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving techniques.

- Hands-on application of Lean tools: 5S, SMED, VSM, Kanban, Kaizen.

- Ability to develop and implement SOPs and standardized model lines.
