Financial Controller

Reporting to the President, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and all accounting-related functions, as well as managing and supporting our bookkeeper and administrative team. Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating the financial status of our organization to senior management while adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements following GAAP.
Manage balance sheet reconciliation and ensure all accounts are properly reconciled.
Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations.
Supervise cash management processes, including cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business objectives.
Utilize software for accounting functions, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
Complete bank reconciliations, cash management reviews, and journal/ledger entries in conjunction with our accounting team when
necessary.
Evaluate budget preparation/variance/data and data analysis to support decision making.
Supervise, support, and train the administrative team when needed.
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and manage periodical reporting.
Support and oversee external financial reviews and tax preparation.
Analyze finances to determine risks and create forecasts.
Essential Qualifications:
3 (Three) years of accounting experience as a Controller with at least 5 (Five) years of management experience with the ability to lead a
team.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. CPA preferred.
Proven experience with data analysis, cost analysis, financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Strong experience in overall accounting and administrative operations
Must be proficient in QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Time, and payroll software.
Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Access, etc.) is required.
Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
