This position is available within the University of Maryland’s Division of Information Technology (DIT).
The Workday Security Analyst supports the University of Maryland (UMD) Workday Enterprise Services team by collaborating with University stakeholders to develop and maintain the Workday security model. The Security Analyst is a subject matter expert for Workday security technical areas and helps coordinate a sustainable centralized security model.
Specific duties for this role include:
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify gaps and risks, suggest alternatives and advise on best practices
• Collaborate with both technology and business teams to identify, develop, implement, and maintain the Workday Security Matrix
• Configure and maintain security groups, roles, and permissions across all Workday modules and users
• Conduct security reviews and audits to ensure compliance
• Serve as subject matter expert and assist peer teams in mitigating security risks and providing best practices
• Review and approve various security requests
• Create, document, and maintain proper internal controls
• Promote continuous improvement of security processes and provide security reports to identify improvement opportunities
This position is considered essential and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergency to help maintain the continuity of University services.
Physical Demands:
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Minimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Three (3) years of professional information technology experience in the area of enterprise application administration, development, or support. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of Javascript. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in the use of Google Office Suite. Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients and public.
Additional Job Details
Please note that all positions within the Division of Information Technology (DIT) have an in person component with expected time in our College Park, MD location per week. Telework is not a guaranteed work arrangement.
