Sr. Accountant

Job Description

Robert Half is seeking a contract-to-permanent Senior Accountant to support our client in NW Portland. This position will play a vital role in managing financial tasks, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with compliance reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and previous experience in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries, financial statements, and general accounting records.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

• Maintain and evaluate internal control procedures to ensure compliance.

• Handle banking transactions, account reconciliations, and other financial tasks.

• Assist with inventory-related processes and provide support during annual audits.

• Collaborate on special projects and contribute to process improvements as needed.

• Demonstrate reliability with consistent attendance and active participation in team efforts.

• Support compliance reporting requirements and ensure accurate documentation.

• Work effectively in a team environment, fostering a spirit of cooperation and collaboration.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or business management with attention to detail.

• Proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with Dynamics NAV is preferred.

• Excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

• Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is a plus.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
