Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead and oversee the accounting operations of our organization in Buckner, Kentucky. The ideal candidate will manage a wide range of financial activities, including reporting, compliance, and budgeting, while ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can guide a team and provide valuable financial insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

• Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls to ensure accuracy and minimize financial risks.

• Supervise and support staff by managing roles, assignments, and schedules, while identifying and addressing training needs.

• Oversee the preparation of financial reports to ensure compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards.

• Create and monitor the annual budget and forecasts, reporting any significant variances to key stakeholders.

• Conduct financial analysis to support decisions on capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.

• Recommend performance benchmarks to measure and improve organizational efficiency.

• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and provide necessary documentation.

• Ensure timely filing of quarterly and annual financial reports in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.• Proven experience in accounting and financial management with a strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS standards.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems and tools such as CRM, ADP Financial Services, and Crystal Reports.

• Expertise in key accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and auditing.

• Strong knowledge of budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.

• Highly analytical mindset with a focus on financial analysis and strategic decision-making.

• Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
