Job Description
Robert Half Management Resources is seeking an experienced Procurement Consultant to develop and implement a procurement function tailored to our client’s organization’s IT and travel-related spend. This contract role is ideal for a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in procurement process design, sourcing, and spend management—particularly in hardware, software, SaaS, and corporate travel. This is a remote opportunity with occasional travel to Louisville, KY.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Function Development:
Design and implement procurement policies, workflows, and governance structures for IT purchases (hardware, software, SaaS) and travel expenses.
Process Optimization:
Recommend best practices for requisitioning, approvals, vendor evaluation, and contract management to ensure efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
Spend Analysis & Strategy:
Analyze current spend to identify cost-saving opportunities and consolidation across suppliers and categories.
Software Review & Recommendation:
Evaluate procurement tools and software platforms suitable for managing IT and travel spend; make recommendations based on scalability, integration, and usability.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with finance, IT, and operations teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives and ensure organizational buy-in.
Vendor Management:
Support the identification, negotiation, and onboarding of vendors. Ensure supplier performance standards are clear and trackable.
Qualifications:
Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management with a focus on IT and travel spend.
Demonstrated ability to design and roll out procurement processes in a mid-sized or scaling organization.
Strong understanding of procurement and T& E platforms
Familiarity with IT procurement lifecycles, software licensing, cloud services, and T& E policy design.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field; procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are a plus.
Preferred Experience:
Prior work with early to mid-stage companies setting up procurement infrastructure from the ground up.
Experience integrating procurement software with existing financial or ERP systems.
Working knowledge of contract law and compliance frameworks related to IT procurement.
