We are looking for an experienced IT Security Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the organization's security posture through audits, risk assessments, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the construction and contracting industry.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough testing of security controls to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

• Perform detailed risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors by gathering evidence, preparing documentation, and representing the security team during audits.

• Act as a liaison between the organization and external audit teams to ensure clear communication and successful audit outcomes.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance security practices and processes.

• Monitor and manage firewall technologies, including Checkpoint and Cisco ASA, to protect the organization's network.

• Oversee the configuration and management of cloud-based security solutions, including AWS and other cloud technologies.

• Implement and manage cybersecurity frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.

• Utilize auditing tools and techniques to continuously improve the organization's security posture.

• Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and recommend proactive measures to address them.• Proven experience in conducting internal and external security audits.

• Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and reporting.

• Proficiency with firewall technologies, including Checkpoint and Cisco ASA.

• Expertise in cloud security solutions, particularly AWS technologies.

• Familiarity with Cisco technologies and their application in cybersecurity.

• Hands-on experience with configuration management and cybersecurity frameworks.

• Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively collaborate with auditors and team members.

• Ability to mentor and coach team members to foster a culture of security awareness.
