Sr. Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Mashpee, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of accounting processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to strategic financial planning while guiding less experienced team members.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

• Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with thorough documentation.

• Assist in creating budgets, forecasting financial outcomes, and supporting strategic planning.

• Reconcile bank statements and perform detailed variance analysis to identify discrepancies.

• Ensure adherence to tax regulations, filing requirements, and compliance standards.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and resolve issues.

• Develop and refine accounting policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.

• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making processes.

• Mentor and train less experienced accountants, fostering skill development and growth.

•5+ years of experience in hands-on accounting functions

•Bachelors Degree required

•Responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, month-end, weekly deposits & receivables

•Previous healthcare and/or non-profit industry experience required; Blackbaud software experience preferred

•Team player, positive attitude & willingness to learn
