Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Coder to support our client’s medical facility based in Hartford, Connecticut. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Responsibilities:

Review inpatient clinical documentation to assign accurate diagnosis/procedure codes and DRGs

Code all types of multifaceted, high-dollar accounts

Classify data for internal/external reporting, research, compliance, and reimbursement

Mentor junior coders transitioning to complex case types

Enter coded/abstracted data into software and ensure accurate DRG grouping

Complete assigned case reviews daily (including edits, clarifications, etc.)

Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS), Quality Management, Billing, and Registration teams

Seek clarification from physicians on unclear or missing documentation

Meet department KPIs and productivity benchmarks

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience

Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) — must be current and maintained

Over 3 years of progressive impatient coding experience

Additional Information:

Location: Hartford, Connecticut

Job Type: Contract to hire.

Schedule: Monday to Friday – 07:30 am to 04:30 pm

Pay Range: $ 30.00 to 34.00/hour.

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
