Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Cytotechnologist to join the pathology team at an acute care facility. The ideal candidate will possess advanced cytology screening skills and proficiency in both GYN and Non-GYN specimen processing and assessment, including immediate adequacy assessments of FNAs.

Key Responsibilities:

Screen GYN and Non-GYN specimens, including Pap tests, body fluids, and FNAs

Perform immediate assessment of fine needle aspiration (FNA) for adequacy

Conduct cytology prep work for GYN/Non-GYN specimens

Utilize the Bethesda system for cytology reporting

Document all procedures in EPIC

Follow laboratory safety and quality control procedures

Required Qualifications:

New York State Cytotechnologist License (Required)

Bachelor of Science degree and ASCP Certification or Cytology School Certification

Minimum 3 years of cytology experience, including GYN, Non-GYN, and FNAs

ThinPrep Certification (Required)

BLS Certification

COVID-19 Vaccination (Required)

Skills:

GYN/Non-GYN screening (Required)

FNA processing and adequacy assessment (Required)

Cytology prep work (Preferred)

Familiarity with EPIC charting system
