Summary: A healthcare facility is seeking a gastroenterologist for locum tenens to assist with clinic and procedure coverage. Responsibilities include outpatient and clinic duties, with an average of 8 to 10 procedures per day. The setting involves general gastrointestinal cases, including EGD and EVS, supervised by an anesthesiologist in both outpatient and inpatient environments.
Schedule/Availability Requirements: Coverage is needed Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with 20-25 days per month.
Duties:- EGD, EVS, General GI cases- Complete procedures such as double colon and EGD- Use Fujinon scopes and bowel prep at the provider's preference- Collaborate with support staff, including MA, RN, techs, and an APP on site two days per week
EMR Requirements:- EPIC experience required- Completion of training modules before virtual EMR training- Submission of an EMR questionnaire detailing Epic experience
Travel Preferences:- Air travel acceptable- Lodging details preferred with any dietary restrictions noted in advance
Credentialing Information:- Standard timeframe of 60 days- Temporary privileges available with a clean file- An active Utah license is highly preferred- Required certifications include BLS, controlled substance registration, and gastro fellowship
Other Details:- Candidates must disclose availability and number of shifts per month they can provide.- Clean malpractice and background preferred; candidates with a self-inquiry NPDB report will be prioritized.
Certifications and Licenses:- BLS- Board Certified Gastroenterology- Controlled Substance Registration (CSR/CDS)- Active DEA, must maintain for assignment duration
