Position Summary:

The Closing Manager oversees and manages the daily operations of the closing department, ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant closing documents of mortgage loans. This role manages closing workflows, reviews closing packages, clears closing conditions, and ensures adherence to investor, agency, and internal policies for various loan types including Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and Non-QM, primarily within the Wholesale Lending and Mini Correspondent Channel.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manages and supports a team of closers.

· Review and approve closing documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies and external investor/agency requirements.

· Coordinate closely with internal departments (e.g., underwriting, funding, post-closing, compliance) to facilitate smooth closing processes.

· Maintain knowledge of Closing requirements for Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and Non-QM loans.

· Monitor daily pipeline to manage workloads, meet closing deadlines, and ensure service level standards are maintained.

· Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for closing-related issues or discrepancies.

· Conduct quality control reviews to minimize closing errors and ensure audit readiness.

· Train, mentor, and support closing team members on procedures, compliance updates, and LOS functionality.

· Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the closing team.

· Track and report key closing metrics such as turn times, volume, and error rates.

Qualifications:

· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Experience: 3–5 years of experience in mortgage operations and a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in leading a closing team, with a strong background in loan closings. Experience within the Wholesale and Mini Correspondent channel is strongly preferred.

· Skills:

o Detailed understanding of mortgage closing procedures, TRID, and compliance knowledge.

o Familiarity with investor and agency guidelines for Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and Non-QM loans.

o Proficiency in loan origination systems (e.g., Encompass)

o High attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

o Effective leadership and communication abilities.

o Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with tight deadlines.
