Job Description
Job Functions:
Inspect and report on automotive gas and diesel engine components condition once they are disassembled and cleaned
Repairs, rebuilds, and overhauls automotive gas and diesel engine parts using hand tools, precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial bore gauges, calipers, etc.), power tools and machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, boring and honing equipment, valve refacing machines, seat and guide machines, surfacers and other machine tools
Communicate with Shop Foreman for work organization and instruction
Maintain a safe and orderly work area
Required Qualifications:
4+ years automotive and diesel engine machining experience
Knowledge and experience working with gas and diesel engine components for various applications
Knowledge of Engine Rebuilding Machine shop practices
Knowledge and experience using micrometers and dial indicators
Ability and willingness to learn and retain new information
Ability to organize and label work correctly as it comes in
Ability to lift move and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to calculate and apply mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to practical situations
