Pride Health is hiring for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support a healthcare facility in Manitowoc, WI. This is a 26-week contract opportunity offering a unique 7 on / 7 off schedule with consistent hours, competitive compensation, and an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative laboratory environment. and a supportive lab environment.

Job Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing on patient specimens. The role involves correlating and interpreting data using critical thinking, maintaining instruments, resolving issues, and ensuring timely and accurate data entry. Responsibilities also include mentoring new staff and students and maintaining all required competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform clinical testing accurately and efficiently using current lab methodologies.

Interpret and verify test results, recognizing abnormal findings and troubleshooting issues.

Prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively to handle varying workloads.

Maintain a clean, organized workstation and assist others as needed.

Conduct quality control procedures and document corrective actions.

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments; contact technical support when necessary.

Provide training to students, new employees, and medical residents.

Participate in continuing education and stay up to date on technical procedures.

Successfully complete all required competency assessments.

Required Education & Certifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.

Certification (one of the following):

ASCP - Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

AMT - Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology

Certification as MLS (ASCP or AMT) - Required

Blood Bank experience - strongly preferred (client confirming requirement)

Previous hospital-based lab experience preferred

Strong communication and analytical skills
