Responsibilities
Continually focus on providing exceptional guest service as a primary goal, both in how work is conducted and when interacting with guests at all Xanterra South Rim lodges.
Complete schedule for unit bell staff ensuring full coverage for peak periods such as tour bus arrivals/departures.
Train new Bell staff in polices and procedures for unit Bell staff.
Train staff on tour bus procedures, including baggage handling for arrival & departure, security of baggage, liability for damaged articles, blocking Tour rooms and assigning groups with the Windows based hospitality software, and complete all necessary paperwork.
Maintain assigned vehicles and equipment.
Assign Bell staff to assist with maintaining cleanliness of lodge public area.
Work closely with Guest Service Management team to assist with corrective action when necessary.
Check all Bell staff paper and computer work for accuracy and timely completion.
Interact with tour drivers and/or escorts as necessary for bag pickup times, special requests and other concerns.
Maintain security of guest items in the Bell staff’s care and storage.
Cross-Train as a Guest Service Agent to be able to assist the Front Desk operations when needed, via Windows based hospitality software.
Drive a company vehicle at normal operating speed with occasional long-distance highway driving required.
Adhere to all safety and risk management policies.
Ensure that assigned staff is adhering to all safety and Risk Management policies and complete training including, but not limited to First Aid, AED, Fire Extinguisher, etc. training.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to interact in a professional courteous manner with guests and employees.
Possess valid Arizona Driver’s License and comply with Xanterra South Rim Company Vehicle Policy and obtain/carry a passing DOT medical card and have the ability to drive at highway speeds comfortably.
Physically able to carry fifty plus pounds of luggage while ascending/descending stairs
Experience with computers and Windows type software.
Excellent computer and typing skills and experience with email systems such as Outlook.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
General knowledge of Xanterra South Rim guest services with ability to convey information to the guests.
Physical Requirements include:
Position requires the ability to stand and walk frequently, to sit, reach outward and above the shoulder occasionally, as well as squat/kneel and bend occasionally, push/pull 12 lbs - 100 lbs frequently, lift/carry 10 lbs - 50 lbs frequently and 51 - 100 lbs occasionally.
