Shipping & Receiving Associate

Job Description

We are seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate for our client in Carpentersville, IL. The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for supporting warehouse operations by managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are properly handled, packed, and documented. This entry-level role plays a key part in the efficiency and safety of daily logistics.

Daily Job Expectations:

Pick and transport materials from the distribution center to the shipping area.

Receive, inspect, and document incoming and returned products.

Maintain accurate inventory records for all incoming and outgoing items.

Identify and report missing, damaged, or lost materials to the supervisor.

Ensure all shipments are securely packed, labeled, and meet quality standards.

Scan product labels to confirm correct destinations.

Handle merchandise safely and according to company guidelines.

Assist in onboarding and training new team members.

Routine Duties:

Collaborate effectively with team members and department managers.

Follow all safety protocols and company policies.

Utilize computer systems for tracking and documentation as required.

Participate in regular audits and reviews of procedures.

Support overall shift requirements, including working overtime when needed.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse workspace.

Ensure completion of all assigned routine tasks and assist others as needed.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Ability to lift and move materials safely (up to [insert weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs]).

Basic computer skills and ability to use scanning equipment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Team-oriented with good communication skills.
