Job Title: Quality Control Inspector – Manufacturing

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (3 Months)

Pay: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)

Shifts:

Preferred: 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM

Alternate: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Must be available to train on 1st shift

Job Description:

A growing manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join its team on a contract-to-hire basis. This hands-on role focuses on ensuring product quality through thorough inspections at various stages of production—from raw material to final packaging. Key Responsibilities:

Perform in-process, final, and incoming material inspections

Use measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, and durometers

Verify compliance with engineering drawings and quality specifications

Document inspection results and support quality records, including certs (e.g., 3.1 certs)

Review operator-performed tests and ensure packaging meets standards

Assist in managing non-conforming materials and rework processes

Communicate with production, quality, and logistics teams as needed

Qualifications:

Required:

2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Skilled in using metrology tools (calipers, gauges, durometers, etc.)

Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

High school diploma or GED

Willingness to train on 1st shift and work late shifts (2nd or 3rd)

Preferred:

Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards

Experience reviewing or generating quality certifications

Knowledge of welding or metal fabrication processes

Strong Excel and Microsoft Word skills

Post-secondary technical training or education
