Position: Host / Doorman
Location: EDO - Houston East Side Downtown
Reports To: General Manager
Overview:
As the first point of contact for our guests, the Host/Doorman sets the tone for the entire experience. This role requires a polished presence, sharp instincts, and an unwavering commitment to exceptional hospitality. You will manage guest flow, ensure adherence to dress code and reservations, and maintain the exclusivity and energy of our venue.
Key Responsibilities:
Warmly greet guests and manage entry with grace, discretion, and professionalism
Verify reservations and maintain an accurate waitlist using our reservation system
Enforce dress code and capacity policies while preserving the guest experience
Coordinate with security, host stand, and management to maintain crowd control
Diffuse conflicts diplomatically and escalate concerns when necessary
Provide VIP and regular guests with personalized service and recognition
Maintain the exterior entry area with a clean, welcoming, and elevated appearance
Serve as a brand ambassador, always projecting the style and standards of the venue
Qualifications:
Prior experience in upscale hospitality or nightlife required
Impeccable personal presentation and communication skills
Calm under pressure, quick-thinking, and intuitive with social dynamics
Ability to stand for extended periods and work nights/weekends/holidays
Strong organizational skills and attention to guest detail
