Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Reports to: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Location: Vineland, NJ

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The primary objective of the Quality Assurance Technician is to ensure that all production processes follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), finished products meet quality specifications and customer standards, and food safety is maintained. The technician is responsible for identifying any deviations and promptly reporting them to their supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct GMP, allergen, CCP, and internal audits to identify deviations and report them for corrective action and follow-up.

Review process documents for compliance with specifications and SOPs.

Inspect finished product cases on the production line according to SOPs.

Perform inspections of finished products in the warehouse (e.g., customer returns).

Analyze daily statistical data using Minitab and paperless systems, with follow-up to the production team.

Calibrate laboratory tools, production scales, and thermometers.

Issue tools such as thermometers, blades, and calipers according to procedure.

Assist production in the HOLD/Rework process.

Conduct glass and plastic audits, as well as knife control procedures.

Train staff on Metal Detection (MD) and Minitab.

Take samples for microbiological testing and perform allergen testing.

Provide training to plant floor employees on quality policies and procedures.

Support re-training of employees via the iSpring system following process failures.

Help create, validate, and update product conformity guides.

Perform other tasks assigned by the QA Supervisor or Manager.

Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills:

Strong communication skills.

Ability to work respectfully and effectively with various departments.

Competence in reporting and interpreting quality assurance results.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Minitab and quality management systems.

Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (e.g., GMP, HACCP).

Familiarity with microbiological and allergen testing procedures.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
