Job Description
The Operations Coordinator will oversee and potentially perform maintenance on our fleet of training aircraft and supervise our operations team. The ideal candidate must be hands-on with aircraft maintenance, while also managing all aspects of our maintenance program, working with our outside maintenance providers, maintaining our parts inventory, maintaining aircraft logs and ensuring regulatory compliance, airworthiness, and overall readiness of our aircraft. UFS is a 24/7/365 business with very few holidays. This position may involve working days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required to meet the needs of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations
Oversee the day-to-day functions of the Operations department including supervising staff of Operations Assistants and Rampers
Schedule and track all required inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance performed, in compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
Manage parts inventories and vendor relationships.
Coordinate with flight operations staff and external maintenance providers to minimize aircraft downtime.
Coordinate with bookkeeping staff to ensure timely and accurate AR/AP.
Aircraft Maintenance (If A&P Certificate Held)
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a fleet of Cessna 172s and Piper PA-28s in accordance with manufacturer specifications, FAA regulations, and industry best practices.
Thoroughly verify and troubleshoot squawks and perform repairs or coordinate a repair plan with our external maintenance providers.
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum 1 years of experience in general aviation, preferably in a flight training environment.
Minimum 1 years Management, Supervisory, or Team Lead Experience
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and safety standards.
Basic technology proficiency including using Windows or Mac OS and typical business applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc).
Excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to manage time effectively, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening.
Preferred:
FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certificate (Candidates without an A&P that still have strong aviation experience should still apply!)
Familiarity with Cessna 172 and Piper PA-28 aircraft.
Experience working within a flight training program.Company Description
