Job Title: 2nd Shift Machine Shop Lead
Location: Milwaukee area
Job Type and Duration: Direct Hire
Pay range: $31.45 - $42.55 (shift premium $3/hour)
Hours: 4pm - 12:30am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operate Makino MMC (pallet pool) including loading & unloading of fixtures, cleaning debris from parts, performance and verification of quality checks, and material handling required to keep all CNC's operational.
2. Check, maintain, repair, sharpen, replace and monitor the working inventory of machine cutting tools of each machine.
3. Identify machine and/or tooling issues, then work closely with the supervisor, tool room, maintenance or engineering to resolve the problem.
4. Serve as technical lead for operators in the machine shop.
5. Assist with training of new operators.
6. Serve as back-up to the supervisor; complete essential tasks in their absence.
7. Work with Engineering on new parts and continuous improvement projects.
8. Move material to operations within the plant and document through SAP.
9. Able to understand technical part prints and develop tooling plans based upon those prints.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
A high school diploma and 5 years machine shop experience is required.
Preferred:
Technical certification in machine shop operations.
Makino equipment & tooling knowledge & experience
Experience in continuous, 24 hr./day operations and SAP
MMC (pallet pool) experience
Journeyman machinist
G-Code programming experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Read and interpret manufacturing drawings. Must be able to write and speak English effectively to communicate with co-workers, supervisor, skilled trades & engineering.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to use math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers, including decimals and fractions. Must be able to accurately read, use and interpret a micrometer and other measuring devices.
REASONING ABILITIES
Some judgment is required to set up assigned machine in accordance with standard methods and procedures
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee is required to stand for the full 8-hour shift with one short break & one 30 minute lunch break. Must have excellent vision, dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Employee must effectively speak and listen frequently. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a very frequent basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position works in the manufacturing facility with wide temperature variation. PPE for eyes, ears, feet and hands must be worn at all times. N oise level requires hearing protection. Exposure to machine coolant, oils, lubricants, cleaners, and compressed air are frequent.Company Description
