Position Overview:
As an Auto Damage Appraiser under moderate supervision, this position will appraise the value and cost of damage to autos, trucks, commercial trucking vehicles. The position will manage appraisals to completion and provide quality customer service throughout the appraisal process while maintaining compliance with internal and external quality standards and state-specific regulations. Handling moderate complexity claims within assigned authority limits consistent with company policy and procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
Prepare itemized appraisals using various software systems and claims best practices to assess the cost of restoring damaged vehicles.
Negotiate with clients, third parties, and auto repair facilities to obtain bids, appraisals, and evaluate damage in total loss cases.
Provide technical advice on vehicle repair, parts costs, and damage assessment.
Conduct reviews and ensure the accuracy of repairs.
Resolve conflicts and negotiate with auto repair facilities, adjusters, claimants, and policyholders.
Assess claims for fraud or subrogation risks.
Assist with special assignments and other tasks as needed.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree referred.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 2 to 5 years of auto damage/estimating claims handling experience
Texas Adjuster license required.
Strong technical and administrative background in auto claims handling.
Ability to work independently on technical and administrative matters in accordance with company policy and procedures.
Auto Damage Adjuster - Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.Company Description
