Job Title: Metrology Technician – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Location: Melrose Park, IL
Job Type: Contract (3–6 months, strong potential to extend or convert)
Shift: 1st Shift 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $30–$45/hr (depending on experience)
About the Role:
A leading global pharmaceutical manufacturer is seeking a Metrology Technician to join their Calibration team at a flagship, state-of-the-art facility in Melrose Park. This is a contract role with high visibility and a strong chance of extension or permanent hire based on performance.
This role is critical to ensuring that all production equipment is accurately calibrated and compliant with internal SOPs and FDA regulations. If you have experience calibrating lab equipment in a regulated environment and are looking to make an immediate impact—this could be your next step.
What You’ll Do:
Perform daily calibration of instruments such as pressure gauges, temperature sensors, pH meters, and balances
Use tools like SPRTs (standard platinum resistance thermometers) to check production floor equipment
Inspect, clean, and verify calibration tools before use
Document calibration results in compliance with GDP (Good Documentation Practices)
Collaborate with the Production and Quality teams to ensure calibration standards are met
Support remediation efforts and ISO compliance
Potentially train into Calibration Management software for data entry and tracking
Must-Have Qualifications:
1–3+ years of experience in calibration, metrology, or equipment maintenance
Experience with instruments like pH meters, flow meters, balances, pressure/temp sensors
Familiarity with GDP and regulated environments (pharma or medical device preferred)
Able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand setting
Detail-oriented and quality-focused
Nice to Have:
Pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred
Experience using a Calibration Management System (CMS)
Knowledge of FDA/ISO standards
Degree in Applied Electronics or related technical field is a plus
