Overview
As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will work within established policies and state guidelines while providing consultation, diagnosis, and treatment services to patients. You will be responsible for maintaining documentation to demonstrate compliance with supervision requirements and providing medication management and crisis intervention services to your identified patient population. Your role will be crucial in improving the mental health and well-being of individuals under your care.
Responsibilities
Conducts comprehensive assessments and develops plans of care, implementing and evaluating interventions as needed.
Monitors and adjusts medications and treatments in accordance with approved protocols, ensuring compliance with policies and documentation requirements.
Differentiates between normal and pathological symptoms and documents all relevant patient care issues in progress notes and treatment plans.
Provides age-appropriate, individualized care and participates in on-call schedules and mandatory committees as required.
Assumes responsibility and accountability for judgments and actions, adhering to established policies and procedures for psychiatric care.
Qualifications
Education
Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
Experience
Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Psychiatric experience preferred and/or experience in a residential healthcare institution.
Licenses/Certifications
Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice highly desired.
Must maintain CPR certification, and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required by contract.
